Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the marketing team for cost estimation and preparation of technical proposals.
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of forging components using CAD tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, UG NX, DFOM, etc.
- Conduct feasibility studies, including forging reduction ratio calculations, material utilization analysis, and cut-weight calculations.
- Design forging dies, tooling, and fixtures in line with customer requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare complete die layouts, Bill of Materials (BOM), and process flow charts for forging operations.
- Coordinate with the production team during trials and provide technical support to resolve die/mould-related issues.
- Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Maintain revision control and proper documentation of all design-related records.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of forging processes, die design, material flow, and basic heat treatment concepts.
- Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, UG NX, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Qualification & Experience
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
1015 years of hands-on experience in forging design (hot forging experience preferred).
