Design Engineer - Electronics

ACL – Apollo Computing Laboratories (P) Ltd. is a pioneering manufacturer of high-quality electronic systems in the embedded computing domain, founded in 1992 and headquartered in Hyderabad. The company designs and develops specialized products in-house that are qualified to military standards and widely deployed in defence and aerospace applications.

The Design Engineer – Electronics is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The individual will be responsible for the design, development, testing and productionisation of electronic subsystems for embedded computing, defence and aerospace applications.

The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams across electronics, RF, embedded software, mechanical, systems engineering, manufacturing and testing to develop robust and high-reliability products.

Typical responsibilities include circuit and subsystem design, schematic development, component selection, PCB design and review, RF design and analysis where applicable, design calculations, simulation, prototype development, hardware bring-up and testing. The engineer will participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with applicable performance, reliability, safety, EMI/EMC and military standards.

The Design Engineer will work closely with manufacturing and testing teams to resolve design and production issues, optimize designs for manufacturability, support qualification testing and transition products from prototype to production. The role will also involve technical documentation, failure analysis, continuous improvement and contribution to new product development.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Electronics or RF Design Engineering, preferably within the defence and aerospace industry in India.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong skills in Design Engineering and Product Development.
• Experience in designing and developing mission-critical or high-reliability electronic systems.
• Experience taking products through the development cycle from concept and design through prototyping, testing, qualification and productionisation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with defence and aerospace standards and qualification processes is an advantage.
• Experience with PCB design, circuit simulation, hardware testing, EMI/EMC and system integration will be an advantage.
• Experience in analog/digital electronics, power supplies, high-speed interfaces, embedded hardware and communication interfaces will be preferred.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering tools such as Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice/PSpice, ADS, HFSS, CST or equivalent is an advantage.
• Experience with MIL-STD, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, IPC or other relevant defence/aerospace standards is preferred.
• Experience working with DRDO, HAL, BEL, BDL, defence OEMs, aerospace companies or other defence and aerospace organizations will be highly preferred.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary engineering teams.
• Willingness to work on-site in Hyderabad and engage in hands-on collaboration with engineering, manufacturing and testing teams.
