Role Objective:Support thedesignand development of rolling element bearings (TRB, CRB, BB, SRB) for industrial and automotive applications. Ensuredesignaccuracy, technical compliance, and timely execution of new product development projects.
Key Responsibilities:1. ProductDesign& Development
- Prepare detailed 2D/3D designs of bearings based on customer and application requirements.
- Perform basic bearing calculations (load, life, and speed ratings).
- Select suitable materials, tolerances, and fits for bearing components.
- Work with CAD and simulation tools (Solid Edge/SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD).
2. Product Validation
- Support prototype development and coordinate with testing teams for validation activities.
- Review and interpret simulation and FEA results to improve product performance.
3. Customer & Cross-Functional Support
- Assist senior engineers in technical discussions with OEM customers.
- Participate in APQP, DFMEA, anddesignreview meetings.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams for DFM/A and cost optimization.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and update drawings, BOMs, anddesignreports.
- Ensure adherence todesignstandards (ISO, DIN, JIS, AFBMA).
- Maintaindesignrecords in line with IATF 16949 requirements.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Support VA/VE projects and cost reduction initiatives.
- Suggest improvements indesignmethods, materials, or processes.
Key Skills & Competencies:- Strong fundamentals in mechanicaldesignand bearing technology.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Solid Edge, Creo, or SolidWorks).
- Basic knowledge of FEA, bearing life calculation, and metallurgy.
- Understanding of APQP, FMEA, and PPAP documentation.
- Good analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Profile:- Qualification:B.E./B.Tech inMechanical Engineering.
- Experience:37 years in productdesign& development of bearings or precision components.
- Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and drawing release.
- Knowledge of DFM/A and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience in bearingdesignor automotive componentdesignpreferred.
