Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA / 3DX for automotive components. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet engineering standards and project milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Design and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA / 3DX for automotive components.
  • Handle Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Notices (EN), and design updates.
  • Work on WERS concerns, perform CAD Changes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Execute Digital Pre-Assembly (DPA) to validate packaging, clearances, and assembly feasibility.
  • Manage part release process, BOM structuring, and updates in WERS / Teamcenter.
  • Design plastic components considering injection molding rules such as draft, ribs, bosses, and shrinkage.
  • Develop sheet metal parts with knowledge of stamping, bending, welding, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, CAE, suppliers, and program teams.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CATIA / 3DX.
  • Experience with change management processes.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design.
  • Understanding of plastics injection molding.
  • Competency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in managing part release processes and BOM structuring.
  • Familiarity with WERS and Teamcenter.

Work Environment

This role involves collaborating with diverse teams, including manufacturing, CAE, suppliers, and program teams. The position requires adherence to engineering standards and project milestones, ensuring a structured and quality-focused work environment. The work involves using advanced software tools like CATIA / 3DX to design automotive components.
