Position Overview:
Location: Chennai (REHQ / Vallam)
Position Title: EV – Design Engineer – 2-Wheeler Brake system
Reports to: Lead
Function: EV Technical
Required Mandatory Skillset:
Exp: Minimum 4-9 Years of experience in Designing of 2-Wheeler Brake system with Creo.
Qualification: BTech / BE - Mechanical/ EEE/ECE/Production/Automobile engineering
What we need:
- Qualified to Engineering degree B.E (Mechanical/Automobile)
- 49 years Experience in OEM/similar domain with hands-on experience on ProE - Creo.
- Experience on the two wheeler Brake system
- A demonstrable track record in engineering design of components and subassemblies.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Previous experience of casting / forging / Injection moulding parts design is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience of creating and releasing 2D technical drawings & 3D models in Creo
- Hands-on experience of Creation of EBOM and releasing it in PLM (Windchill)
- Good Understanding of geometric tolerances on 2D drawings
- Past experience in analysis and optimization of components and subassemblies is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and a good understanding of the design requirements for mass production.
- Thorough understanding of motorcycle chassis layout and construction.
- Experience in designing to regulatory requirements as applied to motorcycles.
What you'll do:
The incumbent will be responsible for Design & Development of two-wheeler Brake system (ABS and Non-ABS System)
Key Responsibility
- Design & Development of two wheeler Brake system (ABS and Non ABS System)
- Produce good quality 3D CAD models using PTC Creo.
- Produce good quality 2D engineering drawings.
- Design & Development of Chassis Parts like Structural parts (Casted,Forged,) Plastic parts and Managing Bill of Materials within the requirements of the company's New Product Introduction (NPI) system.
- Evaluate design with help of CAE team and improvise design to meet input requirements.
- Create an Engineering Bill of Materials in PLM and release it.
- Liaise with internal departments & release EBOM changes for New Models & current product upgrades
- Design components and assemblies for new and updated projects that comply with regulatory requirements and Royal Enfield's internal test procedures, considering function, cost, mass, manufacture, assembly and quality.
- Follow and help maintain design, operational and quality procedures. Including running relevant working groups as required.
- Produce supporting documentation for designs, as required.
- Liaise with internal functional stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and needs.
- Liaise with internal departments such as, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality and Assembly.
- Liaise with external international suppliers to define and agree tooling and processes.
- Manage time and workload effectively.
- Support the testing department with defining and performing the testing of components and assemblies by jointly developing the DVP.
