Role Overview
We're looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed Design Coordinator to bridge concept, design development, and on-site execution. In this role, you'll ensure architectural designs are coordinated, compliant, and true to the studio's design intent—right from early concepts through to GFC/IFC issuance and site support.
You'll work closely with Principal Architects, Project Architects, consultants, and site teams to manage drawings, revisions, approvals, and design coordination across multiple projects.
What You'll Do
Design Coordination
- Coordinate architectural design from concept stage to construction documentation
- Ensure design intent is consistently maintained across all stages
- Review drawings for consistency, accuracy, and constructability
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape, façade, and other consultants
Drawing & Documentation Management
- Manage preparation, review, and issuance of:
- Concept drawings
- Design development sets
- GFC / IFC drawings
- Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and issue trackers
- Ensure compliance with local bye-laws, codes, and approval requirements
Internal & External Coordination
- Act as a single point of contact between design teams, consultants, and site/execution teams
- Conduct and document design coordination meetings
- Proactively resolve design conflicts before they reach site
Quality & Process Control
- Enforce studio drafting standards and workflows
- Identify gaps between design and execution early
- Support value engineering without compromising design quality
Project Support
- Assist Project Architects with:
- Timelines and deliverables
- Client presentation coordination
- Authority submission coordination
- What We're Looking ForBachelor's or Master's in Architecture
- 8+ years of experience in architectural design coordination
- Strong understanding of design development to construction documentation workflows
- Hands-on with AutoCAD / Revit (BIM knowledge is a plus)
- Experience coordinating with consultants (Structural, MEP, Landscape, etc.)
- Solid grasp of local bye-laws, codes, and approval processes
- Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
