About Suffolk Design:

Suffolk's newly created design vertical, Suffolk Design, aims to disrupt the traditional design delivery process through a proprietary, collaborative, and fully integrated design-build service offering. Suffolk Design promises to leverage Suffolk's core construction capabilities, along with innovative technologies and processes to create world-class design-build and design-management services delivering to its clients design excellence with unprecedented levels of efficiency and predictability.

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Architect to support the design, technical development, and delivery of architectural projects from Design Development through Construction Administration. This role requires a strong foundation in architectural design, BIM-based documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of accurate and coordinated construction documents while working closely with senior team members, consultants, and project stakeholders. The Architect will play a key role in translating design intent into practical, constructable solutions and ensuring project quality and compliance.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and eager to grow their expertise through collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning while supporting Suffolk's design-build vision.

Architect

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project delivery from design through construction.
  • Develop BIM models and coordinated project documentation.
  • Assist with multidisciplinary coordination and technical reviews.
  • Prepare construction documents and technical details.
  • Resolve design and documentation issues under senior guidance.
  • Coordinate with consultants, PMs, and project teams.
  • Support QA/QC processes and documentation standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and design excellence.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Develop architectural drawings, details, and documentation packages.
  • Support façade, building envelope, and building systems detailing.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate architectural designs with structural and MEP systems.
  • Maintain BIM standards and model quality.
  • Assist during construction coordination and issue resolution.

Project Scope:

  • Architectural projects require technical documentation, coordination, and design support.

Decision-Making Authority;

  • Project-level decisions within assigned responsibilities under senior oversight.

Client Interaction:

  • Occasional interaction with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

People's Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with project teams and support knowledge sharing across the group.

Commercial Exposure:

  • Awareness of project schedules, budgets, and delivery requirements.

Success Metrics:

  • Quality and accuracy of project documentation.
  • Timely completion of assigned deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Professional degree in Architecture required.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of professional architectural experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
  • Knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and detailing.
  • Experience in construction documentation and coordination.
  • Understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with façade and building envelope systems.
  • Strong planning, design, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with visualization and digital design tools.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants and project teams.
