The Opportunity

You will lead the design of data visualizations and analytics products that shape how insights are communicated as part of EY's Global Insights function. Our goal is to equip EY professionals with differentiated market, sector, and company insights that strengthen EY's brand, enhance client relationships, and drive commercial impact.

Working closely with the Primary Research Lead, you will design compelling visual narratives that bring flagship research insights to life on EY.com through interactive data visualizations and experiences.

In partnership with the AI and Applied Analytics Lead, you will also lead UI/UX design for our portfolio of analytics products, ensuring a consistent, intuitive user experience across dashboards, interactive tools, and platforms. A key objective of this role is to help evolve EY's visualization capabilities beyond traditional dashboards toward modern, interactive, and narrative-driven data experiences that better communicate complex insights.

Operating as a hands-on design lead, you will collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to translate complex datasets and analytical outputs into clear, compelling visual stories and intuitive user experiences.

As the function grows, you will help build long-term capability by mentoring team members and establishing best practices for data storytelling, visualization design, and insight communication across EY Insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Storytelling & Insight Communication
  • Lead the design and delivery of data-driven narratives that support key research findings published on EY.com.
  • Work with analysts, researchers, and data scientists to identify the most compelling narratives within datasets and communicate them effectively through visualization.
  • Create visual experiences such as interactive data stories, exploratory tools, animated visualizations, and narrative-driven analytics interfaces.
• Analytics Product Design
  • Lead UI/UX design across the portfolio of analytics and insight products, including documents, dashboards, and platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to ensure designs are technically feasible, scalable, and effectively implemented in production environments.
• Innovation & Best Practices
  • Establish best practices for data visualization, storytelling, and interaction design across EY Insights, including building templates and upskilling analysts.
  • Introduce new tools and approaches aligned to emerging trends in data visualization, UX/UI, interactive storytelling, and analytical design.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Significant experience in data visualization, data storytelling, information design, or analytics product design.
• Proven track record designing compelling data-driven narratives and user-centred analytics products and interfaces.
• Strong grounding in data visualization theory, information design, and UX/UI principles with demonstrated examples in real products or publications
• Ability to translate complex analytical outputs into clear and engaging visual communication.
• Experience conducting exploratory data analysis and working closely with analysts or data scientists to iteratively improve designs
• Experience running design workshops, user feedback sessions, and usability testing.

Technical Skills

• Experience with visualization and design tools such as:
• Flourish (interactive web visualizations)
• D3.js or similar visualization libraries
• Power BI or similar (dashboarding)
• Figma or other design prototyping tools
• Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools
• Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for interactive visualizations is a strong plus.
• Experience designing interactive web-based storytelling experiences is highly desirable.
