Deputy Production Manager

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production processes, maintaining safety and quality standards, driving productivity, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. The candidate will oversee the implementation of 5S, ensure production efficiency, manage inventory, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management & Efficiency:

• Maintain and ensure the implementation of 5S principles in the department.
• Monitor production targets and productivity, ensuring achievement of defined goals.
• Ensure production quality adheres to defined standards.
• Prepare and execute production planning as per the schedule to meet customer demands.
• Provide proposed production dates for all received orders and ensure dispatch of received orders within 24 hours.

Inventory & Materials Coordination:

• Coordinate with Stores to ensure availability of raw materials (RM) and packing materials (PM).
• Maintain Finished Goods (FG) stacking plan and ensure proper shelf management.
• Reconcile stock with Logistics and Stores departments to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Ensure timely stock audits and assist with external audits.

Safety & Compliance:

• Promote and ensure a strong safety culture within the department.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and standards during production processes.

Process Improvement & Continuous Development:

• Drive process developments and continuous improvements to optimize production efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a skill matrix for all production staff to ensure operational competency.

Coordination & Reporting:

• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance activities and handling major breakdowns.
• Ensure timely submission of all production-related reports to upper management.
• Coordinate with all support departments to ensure smooth production operations and on-time delivery.

Desired Profile:

• Proven experience in production management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of 5S, production planning, inventory management, and quality control standards.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
