Job Description

Procurement strategy and planning: Develop category strategies (civil works, MEP, equipment, materials, services) aligned to project schedules, budgets, and risk profiles.
  • Sourcing and market intelligence: Build and maintain qualified supplier panels; conduct market scans, benchmarking, and should‑cost analyses to drive competitive outcomes.
  • Tendering lifecycle: Prepare RFI/RFQ/RFP packs, manage pre‑bid meetings, administer bid cycles, and ensure transparent, audit‑ready processes.
  • Bid evaluation: Lead technical–commercial evaluations with engineering, QS, and project controls; run TCO and life‑cycle cost analyses; recommend awards.
  • Negotiation and award: Drive structured negotiations to secure price, terms, delivery, warranties, LDs, and performance securities; finalize PO/LOA/contract documentation.
  • Contracting and compliance: Draft and administer contracts using relevant forms (e.g., FIDIC/NEC/EPC); ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and company compliance standards.
  • Supplier performance management: Set KPIs, chair reviews, resolve under‑performance, and maintain development plans; manage claims, variations, and change orders.
  • Cost and risk control: Deliver savings, avoidances, and cash‑flow improvements; maintain risk registers and mitigation plans; support contingency management.
  • Expediting and logistics coordination: Track manufacturing, inspections, logistics, and deliveries to meet site needs; interface with site teams to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Systems and data governance: Use e‑procurement/ERP tools for requisition-to-pay; maintain clean master data, contracts repository, and audit trails.
  • Sustainability and ESG: Embed safety, quality, local content, and sustainable procurement principles; track supplier EHS and ESG compliance.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Partner with project directors, construction, design, QS, finance, legal, and HSE to align procurement with project execution.
  • Team support and mentorship: Guide junior buyers/engineers in processes, templates, and negotiations; share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Reporting: Publish procurement schedules, status dashboards, risk/actions, supplier KPIs, and savings/VA/VE outcomes.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate Engineer (B.E./B.Tech) and/or MBA/Post‑Graduation in Construction Management.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in procurement within EPC/Construction/Infrastructure or related sectors.
  • Domain exposure: Civil, structural, architectural finishes, MEP, plant/equipment, and construction services procurement.
  • Contracting knowledge: Working familiarity with FIDIC/NEC/EPC forms, LDs, warranties, indemnities, bonds/guarantees.
  • Tools: Proficiency with e‑procurement/ERP suites (e.g., SAP/Ariba, Oracle/Jaggaer or equivalent) and MS Excel/PowerPoint for analytics and reporting.
  • Compliance: Strong understanding of ethics, anti‑corruption, and audit requirements in procurement.
