Job Purpose: This role is responsible to plan and ensure the efficient, reliable maintenance of the Switchyard and Power Transformer areas, driving strategic planning and compliance with safety and industry standards. This role will also manage resources effectively, ensuring operational excellence and sustainability to support the organization's long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

Team Lead Electrical Switchyard and Transformer

Strategic Planning

Provide inputs for strategic and tactical planning in conjunction with peers for electrical maintenance of Switchyard, Power Transformer, and associated areas.

Lead and oversee proactive planning and execution of systems to prevent future problems and ensure efficient and reliable maintenance.

Participate in cross-site knowledge sharing, conclaves, and seminars to align with industry best practices.

Maintenance Strategy And Operations

  • Execution of PM, RM, CBM, Break down Maintenance.
  • Plan outage works for 220 KV /400 KV Switchyard and power transformer up to 400MVA.
  • Annual overhaul maintenance execution.
  • Interface with other departments
  • Practice & implement Safety measures for departmental staff to achieve zero accidents goal.
  • Monitor contractors works to perform timely & quality work.
  • Maintain maintenance history, other records and drawing documents
  • Implementation & compliance of IMS standards and maintaining its records

Review and update SMPs, JSAs, and SOPs , ensuring adherence to budget constraints.

Manage the implementation of improvement projects for Switchyard, Power Transformer and other associated areas through adoption of newer technologies.

Manage testing of electrical equipment for safety and reliability.

Track and ensure timely updation and closure of notifications on SAP.

Resource And Inventory Management

Manage spares inventory and develop vital indigenous spares including radiators, bushings, Turret CT, Circuit brakers, CT, PT, CVT, isolators, relays etc.

Plan and manage timely repairing and refurbishment activities for associated area equipment.

Approve PRs raised by Leads and coordinate with Techno Commercial department for efficient procurement contracts awarding and end-to-end closing of process.

Prepare SES (Service Entry Sheets) for completed services and tracking of payment cycle.

Business Sustainability

Ensure adherence to IMS, AWMS, DISHA, ABEM and CHETNA guidelines within the department.

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate hazardous processes and ensure participation in mock drills.

Ensure a safe working environment and the safety of personnel through proper training and adherence to safety protocols.

Mitigate the recurrence of problems through effective RCA and avoidance strategies.

Ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements, including electrical license renewal and certifications.

Coordinate with government agencies such as SLDC, WRLDC, ALDC, NRLDC and other regulatory authorities for compliance and scheduled outages.

Perform RCA, MoC, FMEA, ZFO, and timely technical audits including ISO, IWMS, 5S, etc. to maintain high operational standards.

Digitalization And Automation

Lead and execute comprehensive Digitalization strategies to optimize operational efficiency.

Innovate and implement automation solutions to support overall organizational goals.

Review and implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies.

Identify system upgradation opportunities through innovative ideas and best practices.

People And Team Engagement

Support in the recruitment process to attract and retain skilled personnel.

Drive and enhance employee engagement across the team, including Business associates to sustain a positive workplace culture.

Lead, inspire, and mentor the team to foster a high-performance culture and ensure cross-skilling.

Foster a conducive environment for high employee retention and team satisfaction.

Communicate and coordinate planning with team members and business associates for effective manpower management.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

BE/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

Work Experience (Range Of Years)

15+ years of experience in electrical maintenance within power distribution.

Preferred Industry

Experience in the power generation, transmission, or distribution industry, with a focus on switchyard operations and maintenance.
