Job Description

Hiring for MNC in Hardware Fittings Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

1. High-Volume Line Balancing & Capacity Planning

  • Optimize Takt Time: Match assembly line cycle times to customer demand (Takt Time) to maximize output on high-speed lines.
  • Line Balancing: Conduct detailed time-and-motion studies to balance manual and semi-automated workstations, eliminating bottlenecks and operator idle time.
  • Capacity Modeling: Maintain dynamic plant capacity models to predict scaling needs based on fluctuating high-volume production forecasts.

2. Lean Manufacturing & Shop-Floor Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Kaizen & SMED: Drive quick-changeover (SMED) workshops to minimize downtime during product transitions on the assembly lines.
  • Material Flow Optimization: Design line-side material presentation frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Mizusumashi/Water-spider systems)

Poka-Yoke & Low-Cost Automation (LCA): Implement mistake-proofing mechanisms. 3. Layout Engineering & Ergonomics

  • Workstation Design: Use AutoCAD to design and modify space-efficient, cellular manufacturing layouts that optimize floor space and minimize material handling.
  • Ergonomic Audits: Evaluate repetitive-motion tasks using RULA/REBA or similar frameworks to minimize operator fatigue and improve workplace safety.

4. Data Analytics, Routing & Reporting

  • ERP Maintenance: Create and audit accurate routing data, standard hour calculations, and Bill of Materials (BOM) cycles within SAP/ERP systems.
  • KPI Auditing: Track, analyze, and report actionable metrics including Hours Per Unit (HPU), Line Efficiency, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Industrial, Production, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 10-14 years of core Industrial Engineering experience strictly within high-volume assembly environments (e.g., electronics hardware, automotive components, white goods, or consumer durables).
  • Technical Mastery: Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD (for layout drafting) and standard predetermined motion time systems like MOST (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique) or MTM.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is highly desirable.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Line Efficiency Improvement. Reduction in Hours Per Unit (HPU) / Direct Labor Cost per piece
  • Annualized Cost Savings achieved through Kaizen and Lean interventions
  • Set-up/Changeover Time (SMED) Reduction (%)
  • Assembly Line First-Time-Through (FTT) Yield Improvement
