Job Summary
The Deputy Human Resources Manager supports the Human Resources Department in delivering strategic and operational HR initiatives across the hotel. The role is responsible for talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning & development, performance management, statutory compliance, employee relations, and HR administration while ensuring alignment with luxury hospitality standards and organizational objectives. The position acts as a key business partner to department heads and supports the development of a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes for all hotel departments.
- Coordinate manpower planning with department heads.
- Build talent pipelines through hospitality institutes, job portals, and recruitment agencies.
- Ensure a seamless induction and orientation experience for new associates.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive work environment aligned with luxury hospitality values.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Drive employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication channels between management and associates.
Learning & Development
- Identify training needs across departments.
- Coordinate orientation, behavioral, compliance, and service excellence training programs.
- Monitor training effectiveness and maintain training records.
- Support succession planning and career development initiatives.
Performance Management
- Support annual performance appraisal processes.
- Assist department heads in setting performance goals and development plans.
- Monitor employee performance metrics and recommend improvement actions.
- Promote a culture of continuous feedback and development.
HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain employee records, HRIS databases, and personnel files.
- Administer attendance, leave management, employee documentation, and exit formalities.
- Support payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Generate HR reports and analytics for management review.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Support audits and maintain HR compliance documentation.
- Assist in updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and workplace regulations.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Partner with department heads to address staffing, productivity, and employee relations matters.
- Support HR Manager in implementing strategic HR initiatives.
- Mentor HR executives and coordinators.
- Represent the HR department in cross-functional meetings and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.
- Certification in labor laws, HR analytics, or training & development is an advantage.
Experience
- 6–8 years of Human Resources experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory or deputy HR role within a luxury hotel or hospitality organization.
- Experience in employee relations, recruitment, training, and statutory compliance.
