Deputy Manager - Factory Industrial Automation Sales & Marketing

Position Summary

The Deputy Manager - Factory Industrial Automation Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving business growth through the promotion and sale of factory automation solutions, industrial control systems, digital manufacturing technologies, and related engineering services. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, identifying market trends, and delivering customized automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and productivity for customers.

The incumbent will work closely with customers, solution architects, application engineers, and project teams to develop and execute sales strategies across manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities in factory automation and industrial digitalization.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue goals, and profitability objectives.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans and customer engagement strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs, system integrators, EPC contractors, consultants, and end-user customers.
  • Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, and market intelligence.

Customer Engagement

  • Understand customer manufacturing processes, operational challenges, and automation requirements.
  • Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Propose suitable automation solutions aligned with customer business objectives.
  • Manage key accounts and develop long-term strategic customer relationships.
  • Negotiate commercial and technical terms to secure business opportunities.

Solution Selling

  • Promote products and solutions including:
    • PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
    • Industrial networking solutions
    • Motion control and drives
    • Robotics and machine automation
    • Sensors and instrumentation
    • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
    • Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions
    • Energy management systems
    • Digital factory and Industry 4.0 solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop techno-commercial proposals and solution architectures.

Marketing & Market Development

  • Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
  • Identify emerging trends in Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and industrial automation.
  • Support marketing campaigns, exhibitions, seminars, webinars, and customer events.
  • Develop product positioning and go-to-market strategies for target industries.
  • Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support business planning.

Proposal & Tender Management

  • Review RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals in coordination with engineering and commercial teams.
  • Manage bid submissions and follow-up activities.
  • Support contract negotiations and project handover processes.

Reporting & Business Planning

  • Maintain CRM records and sales forecasts.
  • Prepare sales reports, market analysis, and business development updates.
  • Monitor sales performance against targets and develop corrective actions where required.
  • Contribute to annual business plans and growth strategies.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.
  • MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management is preferred.

Experience

  • 8-12 years of experience in industrial automation sales, factory automation, process automation, or industrial solutions marketing.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing industrial customer accounts.
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, metals, or discrete manufacturing industries preferred.
