Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Develop, optimize, and continuously improve formulations for uPVC, CPVC, HDPE, and PP piping and fittings systems
Identify and execute value engineering (VAVE) and cost reduction opportunities without compromising product quality or regulatory compliance
Support new product development through prototype formulation, trials, and laboratory scale validation
Drive the development and optimization of in house stabilizer systems, including One pack and Super pack solutions
Lead compounding improvement initiatives and steer in house compound development for WST and other product segments
Collaborate closely with production teams to successfully scale up validated formulations from trials to full scale manufacturing
Evaluate and qualify new raw materials, stabilizers, additives, and processing aids
Conduct testing in accordance with BIS, ASTM, and ISO standards and prepare detailed technical documentation and reports
Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and suppliers during trials, validation, and scale up activities
Support resolution of field complaints through systematic root cause analysis and corrective actions
Benchmark competitor products to identify opportunities for performance, durability, and cost improvements
Coach and mentor team members to build technical capability within the organization
Maintain strong knowledge of regulatory and performance requirements for plumbing and water supply products

Qualifications

B.Tech/M.Tech/MSc/PhD in Polymer, Chemistry, Chemical or Materials Engineering
8 – 10 years of experience post BTech/MTech/MSc or 3 - 5 years of experience post PhD in R&D within the pipe/polymer/additive manufacturing industry
Hands on experience with pipe/fittings extrusion, molding, and polymer testing will be an added advantage

Key Skills

Strong understanding of polymer science principles and practices, along with related materials
Proven skills in process optimization, data analysis, and structured problem solving
Ability to manage complex projects or programs while adhering to quality, timeline, and budget constraints
Effective documentation skills with strong cross functional coordination capabilities
Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply appropriate engineering methods and procedures
Capability to clearly present project progress, results, and insights to key stakeholders
