NOTE:

  • Ex-Army / Defence background preferred.
  • Local candidates from Hospet / Koppal / Bellary region preferred, with good knowledge of Kannada and local liaison.
  • Good communication skills in Kannada, Hindi and English.

About the Company

The Asst./Dy. Manager – Administration & Security will be responsible for overseeing the complete administrative and security functions at the Coke Oven Plant in Hospet. The role demands a disciplined, structured approach to managing facility services, contractor coordination, workforce amenities, statutory compliance, and overall plant security. Candidates with an Ex-Army / Defense background are preferred, bringing leadership, crisis handling, and operational discipline. Prior experience in heavy industries (steel, coke, or manufacturing plants) is essential.

About the Role

The Asst./Dy. Manager – Administration & Security will oversee the complete administrative and security functions at the Coke Oven Plant in Hospet.

Responsibilities

  • A. Plant Administration
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative functions within the coke plant activities, including transportation, canteen, and coke transport vehicle operations.
  • Implement and monitor cost-effective administrative procedures aligned with corporate policies.
  • Ensure effective facility management, including upkeep of infrastructure, utilities, and office spaces.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for support services and facility maintenance.
  • Lead CSR and environmental initiatives, including plantation drives and greenbelt development.
  • Housekeeping Management: Directly supervise housekeeping staff/agency for entire plant premises, administrative building, restrooms, canteen, guest house, roads and peripheral areas. Ensure daily checklists, hygiene standards, waste segregation/disposal, and 5S compliance. Conduct daily rounds and weekly audits.
  • Horticulture Management: Plan, execute and maintain horticulture & greenbelt development inside plant and around boundary wall. Supervise gardeners, nursery management, irrigation system, plantation drives, lawn maintenance, tree counting & survival rate register. Liaison with KSPCB for green cover norms and preparation for audits / VIP visits.
  • Ensure CCTV monitoring – 24x7 recording, backup, and periodic review mechanism.
  • B. Security Management & Night Vigilance
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security plan for the coke plant premises.
  • Supervise in-house and outsourced security teams (armed/unarmed) to ensure 24x7 vigilance and incident-free operations.
  • Monitor entry/exit of personnel, vehicles, and materials through proper access control, DFMD, and surveillance systems.
  • Night Rounds: Conduct mandatory night rounds at least 2-3 times per week (between 22:00 hrs to 04:00 hrs) to check alertness of security guards, gate controls, patrolling, lighting, vulnerable points, weighbridge, material yards, coke stock, diesel/fuel storage. Submit Night Round Report with observations, deviations and corrective actions to DGM.
  • Implement surprise checks, breath analyzer tests, parade and briefing, and ensure SOP compliance during night shifts.
  • Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments and mock drills; implement preventive measures.
  • C. Local Land Loser & Community Dispute Management
  • Act as a primary point of contact for local land loser / land affected families and village community around the plant.
  • Proactively manage and resolve grievances related to employment, CSR expectations, dust/noise pollution, road damage, vehicle movement, etc.
  • Coordinate with HR, CSR and management to maintain cordial relations and avoid disruption of plant operations due to local agitations, road blocks, or protests.
  • Maintain strong rapport with village elders, panchayat leaders, and local influencers to ensure peaceful industrial atmosphere.
  • Maintain documentation of all interactions, agreements, and MOMs with land losers for future reference and audit.
  • D. Liaison with Local Police & FIR Handling
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with local Police Station (Hospet/Koppal), Circle Inspector, DySP, SP Office, and local intelligence agencies.
  • Represent the company in case of theft, trespass, assault, accident, road incident, strike, material pilferage or any law & order issue.
  • FIR Management: Responsible for drafting, filing and follow-up of FIR / Complaints at police station, including collection of FIR copy, case number, and regular liaison with Investigating Officer (IO).
  • Coordinate with Legal team for police inquiries, court matters, submission of evidence (CCTV footage, documents, witness statements) and police verification of contract labour.
  • Ensure timely reporting of all security incidents to DGM HR/Admin and management with detailed Incident Report and preventive action plan.
  • Handle emergency situations like mob handling, labor unrest, and facilitate police deployment if required.
  • E. Statutory & Legal Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all administrative and labor-related statutory requirements (labor licenses, contractor compliance, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Legal, HR, and external agencies to manage compliance audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Handle documentation and responses during statutory audits (e.g., E&Y and other third-party audits).
  • F. Industrial Relations Support
  • Work closely with HR and IR teams to support harmonious labor relations.
  • Handle IR-related administrative tasks and assist during unrest or negotiations to maintain discipline and safe work environment.
  • G. National Holidays Celebration & Team Welfare
  • National Holidays Celebration: Organize and lead celebration of all National Holidays – Republic Day (26th Jan), Independence Day (15th Aug), Gandhi Jayanti (2nd Oct), Karnataka Rajyotsava (1st Nov), etc. with full participation of security team.
  • Ensure flag hoisting, parade, uniform discipline, and national anthem protocol as per standards.
  • Motivate security personnel, conduct briefing on importance of national days, organize Reward & Recognition for best guards on national occasions.
  • Arrange sweets distribution, team photographs, and submit celebration report to management.
  • Conduct special security briefings and heightened vigilance plan during national holidays and VVIP visits.
