Post: Deputy Manager-Admin & Plant HR for a manufacturing co at Chennai
Location: Perambur, Chennai
CTC; Maximum gross up to 8 LPA
Must have Experience in manufacturing industry.
Job Purpose
The Deputy Manager Administration & Plant HR will be responsible for managing factory administration and plant-level HR functions to ensure smooth operations, effective workforce management, and full compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Administration
- Oversee day-to-day factory administrative operations
- Maintain attendance, leave, overtime, and manpower records
- Coordinate security, housekeeping, canteen, transport, and other facility services
- Ensure maintenance of statutory registers and factory documentation
- Support audits, statutory inspections, and factory visits
Plant HR Operations
- Handle recruitment of plant staff and shop-floor workforce
- Manage onboarding, documentation, and exit formalities
- Maintain employee personal files and HR MIS
- Prepare payroll inputs including attendance, overtime, incentives, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, Factory Act, and company HR policies
- Handle employee grievances and support disciplinary procedures
- Support training, induction, and employee engagement initiatives
Commercial & Coordination Support
- Assist in purchase requisitions and vendor coordination for admin-related requirements
- Support documentation related to invoices, delivery challans, job work, and service bills
- Coordinate with accounts for payments, reimbursements, and records
- Monitor consumption of indirect materials and admin supplies
- Support dispatch-related coordination and documentation as required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of labour laws and plant HR practices
- Experience in factory administration and facilities management
- Good communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, HR MIS)
- Ability to handle shop-floor workforce and union-related matters (if applicable)
Qualification
- Graduate / Post Graduate / Diploma in HR, Administration, or Business Management
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or FMCG plant environment
- Prior exposure as Plant HR / Factory Administration executive or manager preferred
Preferred Industry
