Job Summary

The Zonal Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial functions within the assigned zone. This includes managing warehouse operations, CFAs (Carrying & Forwarding Agents), logistics, statutory compliance, cost control, asset management, and team training. The role demands strong coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and seamless commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Operations & Logistics

  • Monitor and manage the overall commercial function across the zone.
  • Set and evaluate secondary transportation performance against key parameters monthly.
  • Ensure timely dispatches of SKUs from depots and proof of delivery (POD) collection.
  • Ensure fast and accurate billing across all depots in the zone.
  • Maintain real-time stock reconciliation in SAP and physical across all locations.
  • Monitor loose oil status and coordinate with sales for timely liquidation.

CFA & Warehouse Management

  • Monitor and renew CFA agreements; arrange approvals for remuneration revisions when required.
  • Handle new CFA appointments: survey, shortlist, secure approvals, and finalize contracts.
  • Ensure all statutory documentation and depot operation requirements are met by CFAs.
  • Manage CFA manpower issues and provide training on commercial operations (e.g., scientific storage, redressing, loose oil tracking, etc.).
  • Select and finalize new godowns/warehouses (permanent or temporary), prepare agreements, and manage renewals/extensions.
  • Monitor warehouse throughput and operational efficiency across the region monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with security arrangements and safety standards at all warehouses.
  • Maintain accurate records of company assets across all warehouses.
  • Ensure separate space allocation for Food and Staples products, with priority billing for staple goods.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure 100% statutory compliance across the zone, including timely renewal of licenses.
  • Implement the Warehouse Management System (WMS) in line with company guidelines.
  • Monitor CF claims processing for accuracy and timeliness.

Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare and submit Zonal Cost and MIS reports to HO Commercial by the 7th of each month.
  • Submit weekly reports on cluster activities and address critical issues with HO Commercial.
  • Generate monthly reports on warehouse damages, scrapping, utilization, CF performance, and distributor unloading performance.
  • Provide quarterly reports on warehouse cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Discuss stock ageing and slow-moving SKUs with cluster heads regularly.

Training & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct training sessions for Depot Managers on latest processes and operational updates.
  • Provide training and feedback to Zonal Commercial In-charges (ZCIs) and CBB Team Leaders.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues raised by ZCIs and cluster-level leaders.
