Role
- Develop and validate 1D system models using Siemens Amesim and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Perform system sizing for hydraulic systems, electric traction systems, motor implementation, and thermal subsystems.
- Estimate machine runtime by integrating control strategies, duty cycles, and operating conditions.
- Conduct thermal simulations for EV cooling systems, including HVAC, battery, motor, and inverter cooling loops.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of battery cooling system design, coolant loop architecture, and heat rejection requirements.
- Analyse battery behaviour under insufficient cooling, including impact on performance, degradation, thermal derating, and safety limits.
- Analyse and integrate supplier data, performance curves, and component maps into simulation models.
- Correlate simulation results with test, rig, and vehicle-level data to improve model accuracy.
- Prepare technical reports, including system sizing summaries, thermal balance sheets, and runtime prediction documents.
- Provide simulation support to design, controls, and validation teams across development phases.
- Simulate electrical system derating strategies and evaluate worstcase thermal or load scenarios.
- Work with Model-in-the-Loop (MiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) setups to validate control logic and model behaviour.
