Role Overview:
Lead end-to-end spare parts operations including procurement, inventory planning, distribution, reverse logistics, repair management, and scrap control. Ensure optimum parts availability, strong OEM/vendor performance, inventory efficiency, and seamless support to service operations while driving cost optimization and process governance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Spare Parts Planning & Inventory Management
- Drive spare parts planning and inventory strategy across all service locations.
- Ensure optimum stock availability while controlling excess and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor consumption trends, forecasting accuracy, and replenishment planning.
- Improve inventory turnover and working capital efficiency.
2. Master Data & System Management
- Oversee spare part code creation and governance.
- Ensure standardization of part descriptions, classifications, and OEM mappings.
- Maintain accuracy of master data and eliminate duplication/errors.
- Strengthen system controls and reporting visibility.
3. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Manage procurement of OEM and alternate spare parts.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, SLAs, and supply commitments with vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance against defined KPIs.
- Develop alternate sourcing options for critical and EOL parts.
4. Distribution & Supply Chain Operations
- Ensure timely availability and distribution of spare parts to service centers.
- Improve supply chain responsiveness and dispatch efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to service delivery SLAs.
5. Reverse Logistics & Warranty Operations
- Manage reverse logistics for defective parts as per OEM guidelines.
- Oversee collection, segregation, inspection, and movement of defective parts.
- Ensure compliance with warranty and return processes.
- Reduce turnaround time for reverse logistics operations.
6. Repair & Refurbishment Management
- Lead L4 repair operations for high-value and critical spare parts.
- Improve repair recovery rates and reduce replacement costs.
- Ensure availability of repaired EOL parts for service support.
- Monitor repair quality, cost, and turnaround time.
7. Scrap & Disposal Management
- Oversee scrapping and disposal of non-repairable parts.
- Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Maximize scrap recovery value wherever feasible.
- Maintain proper documentation and process controls.
8. Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor spare parts and supply chain teams.
- Coordinate with OEMs, procurement, service operations, and finance teams.
- Drive operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
