Deputy General Manager Production

Purpose of the Role

To act as the operational leader responsible for daily manufacturing execution, production control, shortage management, work-centre coordination and delivery adherence in a high-mix Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing environment. The role serves as the primary plant leader responsible for stabilizing daily operations and reducing firefighting.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: COO / Head of Operations

Direct Reports: Production Engineers, Shop Heads, Assembly Leads, Maintenance Team and Dispatch Coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive daily production execution across fabrication, machining, assembly and dispatch.

• Ensure parts reach assembly stations on time.

• Lead daily shortage reviews and bottleneck removal activities.

• Coordinate with planning, supply chain, maintenance and quality.

• Monitor daily plan versus actual performance.

• Manage work-centre loading and capacity utilization.

• Drive delivery adherence and output achievement.

• Lead manpower deployment and productivity improvement.

• Ensure shop-floor discipline, 5S and safety compliance.

• Support implementation of ERP-driven production controls.
