Deputy General Manager - Medical Coding Operation

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned leader to provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and governance for large-scale Coding Operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in team leadership, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and client service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale operations with 650+ FTEs, ensuring seamless and efficient delivery.
• Partner with RCM Operations leadership to develop and execute strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Drive operational excellence by improving accuracy, productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Establish strong governance frameworks for Coding Operations, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement.
• Identify root causes of operational challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Build and maintain a cost-effective, stable workforce to manage changing business volumes.
• Mentor and develop leaders, fostering accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through qualitative and quantitative measures, feedback, and surveys.
• Optimize resource utilization while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and leadership principles.

Required Qualifications

18+ years of relevant professional experience

Strong understanding of Quality Assurance standards and methodologies

Proven experience in managing large teams and complex operations

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Strong cross-functional collaboration and people management capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Coding certification from AHIMA/AAPC
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies
• Strong analytical skills, including interpreting operational data, identifying trends, and developing actionable recommendations
• In-depth knowledge of operational management, governance, and industry best practices
