Job Description

Position
Overview
The Private 5G
Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading the design, development,
deployment, and optimization of private 5G network solutions for enterprise and
industrial customers. This role requires deep technical expertise in 5G
technology, network architecture, radio access network (RAN) and core network
components, and a strong understanding of industrial use cases such as IoT,
automation, and critical communications. The Lead will manage a team of
engineers and work closely with product management, sales, and operations teams
to deliver robust, high-performance private networks.
Key
Responsibilities
1.
RF
Planning, Radio Design and Radio Deployment
Do the
RF Planning based on customer requirement and do the Radio Design
Guide
the team for the Radio deployment and configuration
2. 5G Core Network
Design & Deployment
Possess
prior experience in Designing and Deploying private 5G networks from concept to
operational status.
Design,
deploy, and optimize crucial 5G Core Network Functions (5GC) including:
o Access and Mobility Management Function
(AMF)
o Session Management Function (SMF)
o User Plane Function (UPF)
o Authentication Server Function (AUSF)
o Unified Data Management (UDM)
o Policy Control Function (PCF)
o Network Repository Function (NRF)
o Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF)
Provide
subject matter expertise on 3GPP Release 15/16/17 standards and seamless
integration with SA/NSA architectures.
Define
the end-to-end 5G Core architecture covering mobility management, session
management, and service orchestration.
2. Architecture
& System Integration
Lead
the integration of the 5GC with the Radio Access Network (gNB/small cells), IP
transport infrastructure, and Edge/Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) platforms
and Device ecosystems
Ensure
Service-Based Architecture (SBA) security using industry best practices,
including TLS, OAuth2, API security, and robust Network Exposure Function (NEF)
policies.
3. Performance
& Optimization
Troubleshoot
and optimize control plane and user plane traffic, meticulously monitoring key
performance indicators (KPIs) such as latency, throughput, and QoS/QoE.
Support
design, deployment, and SLA enforcement across various industrial and
enterprise use cases.
Conduct
capacity planning, performance optimization, and resiliency testing for all 5GC
functions.
4. Cloud-Native
Collaborate
on cloud-native deployments utilizing industry platforms like Kubernetes,
Docker, OpenShift, and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) infrastructure.
5. Vendor
Management
Perform
vendor evaluations and lead interoperability testing with multi-vendor
cloud-native 5G core solutions (VNFs/CNFs).
6. Documentation
& Leadership
Document
architecture designs, detailed deployment guidelines, and provide effective
knowledge transfer materials for operations teams.
Required
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor s or master s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science,
Telecommunications, or a related field.
Minimum
of 13+ years of experience in wireless telecommunications, specifically on 5G
network architecture and deployment.
Experience:
Proven track record in designing, deploying, and optimizing private 5G/LTE
networks for Enterprise customers
Technical
Depth: Deep, hands-on expertise with all 5G Core network functions (AMF, SMF,
UPF, etc.) and 5G RAN
Standards:
Expert-level knowledge of 3GPP standards (Rel 15, 16, 17).
Cloud
Skills: Strong proficiency in cloud-native deployment using containerization
(Kubernetes, Docker) and orchestration tools.
Networking:
Solid understanding of IP networking, transport layer security, and
Service-Based Architecture (SBA) security protocols.
Good
understanding of cyber security requirements of an enterprise network, design
and deploy the network comply to the requirements
Soft
Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.
