Position Title : Deputy General Manager - Finance (Sterile Vertical and Global 3P Operations)

Role Purpose

Act as the Finance Business Partner to Sterile Vertical and Global 3P Operations, providing strategic financial insights, commercial support and robust financial controls across third-party sourced sterile products. Partner closely with Sourcing, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, Legal and Hub Finance teams to drive cost competitiveness, profitability, working-capital optimization and financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial performance, ensuring alignment with business plans and strategic objectives.
• Prepare and review monthly MIS, quarterly management packs, departmental expenses and key financial performance indicators.

2. Costing, COGS & Transfer Pricing

• Support the calculation and validation of Cost of Goods, standard costs and transfer prices for third-party products.
• Provide costing support for annual budgeting, new product launches and commercial/business cases.
• Analyze cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin improvement.

3. PPV, Variance Analysis & Cost Control

• Lead the calculation, reporting and analysis of Purchase Price Variances (PPV) and other operating variances related to third-party products.
• Analyze actual versus standard cost, identify root causes and drive corrective actions with Sourcing and Operations.
• Review PPV accruals, commercial COGS accruals and vendor debit/credit notes to identify and resolve mismatches.

4. Inventory & Working Capital Management

• Support the monthly inventory reporting and control process for third-party contract manufacturers, particularly injectable CMO partners.
• Review inventory movements, provisions, write-offs and working-capital performance.
• Partner with Operations and Hub Finance to strengthen inventory controls and improve working-capital efficiency.

5. Commercial & Contract Finance

• Support the development, establishment and maintenance of complex third-party contracts, with specific focus on cost-control mechanisms and bespoke financial clauses.
• Review commercial agreements and amendments from a financial and business-impact perspective prior to execution.
• Partner with Sourcing to evaluate and pursue vendor claims in accordance with contractual terms.

6. Technical Transfer & New Product Support

• Support preparation of Technical Transfer business cases, including cost evaluation, project budgets, forecasts, actuals and project cost control.
• Provide financial evaluation and decision support for new products, sourcing opportunities and strategic initiatives.

7. Freight & Supplier Cost Analysis

• Review YTD freight actuals through Trax/BI reports and investigate discrepancies against accruals or expectations.
• Analyze freight and other supplier-related costs to identify financial leakage and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Here are the minimum qualifications for this position:

• CA with minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a large global organization.
• Strong experience in Operations Finance, Sourcing/Procurement Finance, Costing, PPV, COGS and Budgeting/Forecasting.
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret and manage large, complex datasets.
• Hands-on SAP experience, particularly in costing, financial controls and variance analysis.
• Strong business systems, digital and data-analysis skills.
• Proven ability to lead process improvement, standardization and automation initiatives.
• Strong commercial understanding with the ability to evaluate contracts and financial implications.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills across multiple functions and geographies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.
• Willingness and flexibility to work across India, Europe and US time zones.
• Strong problem-solving capability, with the ability to Analyze complex situations and develop practical, commercially sound solutions.
