Role Description

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Finance & Accounts with extensive experience in the Real Estate sector to manage and drive the Finance & Accounts function across the organization and its ongoing real estate projects.

The role will oversee finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, audits, project accounting, RERA compliance, cash flow management, collections, vendor payments, and MIS. The incumbent will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong controls and compliance standards.

The DGM will lead the Finance team, drive operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support risk management across projects and business functions. The role will also act as a key liaison between management, project teams, auditors, consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities, ensuring smooth financial operations and alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA with 10–14 years of post-qualification experience, as specified in the JD.
  • Preferably 6–8 years of relevant experience with an established real estate/developer group, with meaningful exposure to real estate finance and project accounting.

Key Competencies

  • Strong practical knowledge of Ind AS, revenue recognition and financial reporting, along with understanding of Ind AS applicability and key differences from IGAAP.
  • Hands-on experience in project-wise accounting, project costing, WIP, cost-to-complete, budget vs. actual analysis and project profitability monitoring.
  • Practical exposure to RERA financial compliance, including project collections, withdrawals, utilisation, RERA bank accounts and related reconciliations/documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS and Income Tax, including review of workings, reconciliations, returns and tax matters.
  • Good exposure to monthly financial closure, MIS, financial reporting and variance analysis, with the ability to identify issues and explain their financial/business impact.
  • Experience in banking, customer collections, vendor payments, reconciliations and monitoring of cash-flow/payment commitments.
  • Experience in leading and managing a finance team across multiple functions/projects and coordinating with Projects, Procurement, Sales/CRM, Legal, auditors, consultants and bankers.
  • Overall experience should demonstrate hands-on operational ownership and business understanding, rather than only reporting or supervisory exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance & Accounting Operations:

Manage overall accounting operations, financial closures, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards while ensuring strong financial controls.

  • Financial Reporting & MIS:

Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, and key business metrics, providing insights to support management decision-making.

  • Project Finance & RERA Compliance:

Oversee project accounting, budgeting, profitability, fund utilization, and ensure compliance with RERA and project-specific regulations.

  • Taxation, Audit & Compliance:

Manage GST, TDS, Income Tax, statutory compliances, audits, financial finalization, and coordination with auditors and consultants.

  • Banking, Collections & Cash Flow:

Monitor banking operations, customer collections, vendor payments, working capital, and cash flow management.

  • Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

Lead the Finance & Accounts team and coordinate with internal departments, management, bankers, auditors, consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth finance operations.
