Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Spearhead centralized procurement for key civil packages — Steel, Cement, RMC, Aluminium Formwork, tiles, CP/sanitary fittings, MEP items, marble, waterproofing etc.
- Define long-term category strategies aligned with business goals to ensure efficiency, standardization, and value creation.
Market Intelligence & Benchmarking
- Develop a robust market intelligence mechanism to track commodity trends, vendor performance, pricing indices, and geopolitical impacts.
- Conduct benchmarking and rate analysis across geographies and competitors to identify optimization opportunities.
- Stay abreast of inflationary trends, commodity cycles, and logistics costs impacting procurement.
Procurement Analytics & Cost Control
- Drive data-backed procurement decisions using spend analytics, rate variance reports, and budgetary controls.
- Evaluate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and develop cost models for key materials.
- Lead initiatives around price hedging strategies (especially for steel, cement) to manage volatility.
Vendor Management & Rate Finalization
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with national-level vendors/suppliers and negotiate annual rate contracts or MoUs.
- Ensure multi-vendor mapping, vendor evaluation, pre-qualification, and periodic performance audits.
- Leverage bulk buying power to secure favourable terms, quality adherence, and on-time deliveries.
Centralized Buying Execution
- Align with regional project teams to forecast demand, standardize specifications, and ensure seamless delivery across locations.
- Facilitate rate discovery, competitive bidding, and commercial closure with suppliers at HO level.
- Monitor procurement cycle time, inventory planning, and logistics efficiency.
Process Governance & Risk Management
- Implement procurement SOPs, approval hierarchies, and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit norms.
- Identify procurement risks (e.g., price fluctuation, dependency on single vendors, delivery risks) and develop mitigation plans.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with project teams, contracts, engineering, planning, and finance to ensure alignment on budgets, BOQs, and construction timelines.
- Act as the procurement SPOC for centralized packages across all projects and regions.
Who are we looking for
- In-depth knowledge of civil construction materials, vendors, and cost dynamics.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in hedging, price forecasting, and market analysis.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and analytical thinking.
- Proficient in MS Excel, ERP (SAP/Oracle), e-procurement platforms, and dashboarding tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
