Role Summary:

The State Head Training is responsible for driving the learning and capability-building agenda across the Agency Distribution channel within the assigned state. The role focuses on enhancing the productivity, sales effectiveness, leadership capabilities, and professional competency of Agency Leaders, Agency Managers, Life Planners, and other frontline sales personnel. It also focuses on selling responsibly, compliantly, and productively across protection and savings solutions. The role spans Training Needs Analysis (TNA), program design (digital + classroom), delivery excellence, certification & audit readiness, team leadership, and impact measurement aligned to business priorities and IRDAI norms.

The incumbent will lead a team of Training Managers and collaborate closely with Distribution leaders to design, implement, and monitor strategic learning interventions that improve business performance, talent development, agent activation, retention, and leadership effectiveness.

Cluster Training Strategy & Planning

. Create the annual and quarterly training blueprint for assigned clusters with partner-specific curricula and roll-out calendars align to business KPIs, product priorities, and compliance needs.

. Lead Training Needs Analysis (TNA) using sales funnel data, conversion, portfolio mix, persistency, audit findings, and stakeholder inputs define role-based learning paths (Advisors/Leaders/BAM/BM/ADOA).

. Deploy Train-the-Trainer (T3) models, branch huddles, blitz weeks, and capability sprints for scale and speed.

Content Design & Enablement

. Design simple, high-impact content for product knowledge (protection/savings/annuity), customer discovery & suitability, need-based selling, objection handling, lead management, documentation, issuance).

. Co-create with Product, Compliance, and Partner teams to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence leverage LMS, e-learning, microlearning, and mobile nuggets for reach and retention.

Delivery & On-the-Floor Support

. Conduct classroom and virtual sessions drive on-the-floor enablement (morning huddles, ADOA/DOA shadowing, portfolio clinics) aligned to partner calendars and campaigns.

. Lead onboarding journeys for new partner staff run refreshers before product launch/seasonal drives.

Compliance, Certification & Audit Readiness

. Ensure training and certification processes meet IRDAI guidelines and bancassurance/corporate agent requirements maintain accurate records, MIS, and audit readiness.

. Embed conduct risk, fair-customer-outcomes, and documentation discipline (KYC, suitability notes, disclosures) in curricula.

Performance Measurement & Insights

. Measure impact through assessments, feedback scores, and business KPIs (activation, conversion, case size, protection mix, persistency, cross-sell) publish cluster dashboards/MIS for reviews.

. Run A/B pilots and ROI analysis to iterate programs share best practices across clusters.

Stakeholder & Partner Management

. Partner closely with Agency State Heads, Agency Leaders, Sales Leadership Teams, HR, and Distribution stakeholders.

. Act as a strategic advisor on capability development and learning interventions.

. Facilitate alignment between business priorities and training initiatives.

. Manage external vendors/SMEs for specialized programs enforce SLAs, quality benchmarks, and version control.

Team Leadership & Governance

. Lead a team of Cluster Training Managers/Trainers set goals, coach, and review performance conduct regular T3 and QA audits on facilitation quality.

. Manage training calendars, budgets, and logistics ensure standardization and documentation across clusters.

Agency-Specific Deliverables (Cluster Focus)

. Coverage & Activation: Get New License Advisors/ Life Planners/ Leaders/ Branches/ Sales Managers trained time-to-productivity for new joiners.

. Sales Excellence: Lead-to-sale conversion, protection penetration, balanced product mix, campaign readiness.

. Quality & Governance: Proposal completeness, error-free documentation, audit compliance, complaint reduction.

. Customer Outcomes: Suitability adherence and persistency uplift via need-based selling and disciplined follow-through.

Qualification

. Graduate/Postgraduate MBA preferred.

Experience

. 8-12 years in training within life insurance/BFSI, with 4-6 years in Agency Channel.

. Proven success in leading cluster training teams and scaling programs across large agency networks.
