Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Deployment Engineer responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting server and network infrastructure across client environments and internal setups.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working on real hardware, networking setups, and data center environments. The position requires strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on-site deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Data Center Operations
- Perform rack mounting and stacking of servers, switches, and network devices
- Configure RAID and perform OS installation (primarily Linux-based systems)
- Conduct hardware checks, diagnostics, and basic server troubleshooting
- Create and manage virtual machines (VMs)
Networking
- Configure switches (VLANs, trunking)
- Perform basic firewall configuration and rule setup
- Manage IP addressing and assist with routing configurations
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
Cabling & Physical Infrastructure
- Perform RJ45 crimping and cable testing
- Handle fiber patching (SFP/DAC connections)
- Ensure proper cable dressing, routing, and labeling in racks
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose hardware issues (disks, RAID, servers)
- Identify and resolve network-related issues
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and support during deployments
Deployment & Documentation
- Execute on-site installation and setup of infrastructure
- Document deployed systems, configurations, and layouts
- Maintain basic deployment records and reports
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (CCNA level)
- Basic knowledge of Linux systems and OS installation
- Familiarity with:
- RAID configurations
- VLANs and switching concepts
- SFP/DAC and basic fiber networking
- Hands-on experience with servers, networking devices, and cabling
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNA certification (or pursuing)
- Exposure to data center environments
- Basic understanding of virtualization (VM creation/management)
