IIIT Hyderabad Data I Hub Foundation (IHub-Data) is a Technology Innovation Hub established by IIIT Hyderabad under the Government of India's National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS). The Hub drives innovation, research translation, startup incubation, skill development, and industry collaborations in Data-Driven Technologies, AI, Healthcare, and other emerging technology domains.

Position Summary & JD

We are seeking a Deployment Engineer to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of research and digital platforms across multiple collaborating hubs. The role will focus on application deployment, infrastructuremanagement, automation, monitoring, and coordination with technical teams to ensure reliable and scalable delivery of services.

The successful candidate will work closely with software developers, data engineers, researchers, and IT teams to manage deployments, troubleshoot operational issues, and improve deployment processes across distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities

Deployment & Release Management

Deploy and maintain applications across development, testing, and production environme nts.

Execute software releases and infrastructure updates following established procedures.

Support containerized deployments using Docker and orchestration platforms.

Assist in rollout planning, rollback procedures, and release validation. Infrastructure & Platform Operations

Manage Linux-based servers and cloud infrastructure.

Configure and maintain web servers, databases, storage systems, and networking components.

Monitor system health, performance, and availability.

Respond to operational incidents and participate in root-cause analysis.

DevOps & Automation

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

Automate deployment, provisioning, and operational workflows.

Maintain infrastructure-as-code configurations.

Support configuration management and version control practices.Inter-Hub Collaboration

Coordinate deployments across collaborating institutional hubs and partner organizations.

Support onboarding of new deployment environments and partner sites.

Maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Facilitate knowledge transfer and technical handovers between teams.Security & Compliance

Implement security best practices for deployments and infrastructure.

Support access management, patching, backup, and disaster recovery activities.

Ensure operational compliance with institutional IT policies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

2–5 years of experience in deployment engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or related roles.

Strong experience with Linux administration.

Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools.

Understanding of networking fundamentals, SSL/TLS, DNS, and web services.

Experience troubleshooting production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

Experience supporting research, healthcare, or academic computing environments.

Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools.

Experience working with distributed or multi-site deployments.
