Position Overview

Reporting To: Regional Head of Service Delivery

The Deployment Engineer plays a critical role in deploying Tookitaki's FinCense platform across client environmentsboth on-premise and cloud-hosted (CaaS). Focused on pipeline management, data validation, scripting, and client configuration, this role is central to successful onboarding and operational readiness of client systems. The role requires hands-on experience with big data tooling, automation, and real-time production troubleshooting.

Position Purpose

The Implementation Engineer ensures seamless data pipeline deployment, validation, and monitoring, tailored to specific client environments and ingestion needs. The role provides technical support to client stakeholders and collaborates with internal teams for configuration, ingestion testing, and ingestion automation. It is regionalized in CaaS environments and dual-resourced in on-premise deployments alongside Infrastructure Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

1.Data Pipeline Deployment & Validation

• Build and manage ingestion workflows using Spark, Hive, Trino, and Kafka
• Validate data ingestion, debug pipeline outputs, and support delta loads
• Create and schedule Airflow DAGs for recurring ingestion processes

2.Automation & Scripting

• Use Python and Bash (or PowerShell) to automate ingestion validations
• Implement monitoring scripts for ingestion health and trigger alerts

3.Environment Readiness

• Execute cron jobs, debug logs, and monitor job performance in live environments
• Tune processes at OS level and handle Linux CLI-based deployments

4.Client Configuration & Support

• Collaborate with clients on ingestion pipelines, metadata definitions, and readiness checks
• Participate in technical walkthroughs, UATs, and deployment reviews

5.Operationalization Support

• Manage ingestion triggers, validate alerting, and handover to Support team post-deployment.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience:

• 47 years in data integration, Hadoop/Spark deployments, or platform configuration

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Trino, Kafka, Airflow
• Python, Bash/Powershell scripting
• Linux administration
• SQL for joins, debugging, validation

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication for client handling
• Analytical and troubleshooting mindset
