Job Overview

The Department Manager Retail at Reliance Retail is a junior-level, full-time position based in Bengaluru or Mysuru. This role requires 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in retail and is responsible for overseeing departmental operations, team leadership, and driving customer excellence within the store environment.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Team Leadership (Mandatory skill): Ability to lead, motivate, and manage store staff to achieve department goals and foster a positive team environment.
  • Customer Service: Proven experience in delivering exceptional service, handling queries, and resolving issues to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Inventory Management: Skilled in monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing inventory levels to reduce shrinkage and ensure product availability.
  • Sales Reporting: Demonstrated capability to collate, interpret, and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales data to inform business decisions.
  • KPI Monitoring: Experience in tracking and analyzing key performance indicators to drive improvements in department effectiveness and sales.
  • Loss Prevention: Working knowledge of best practices to minimize losses through process controls, staff training, and surveillance measures.
  • Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal abilities to coordinate with team members, management, and customers for smooth operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Adept at addressing operational challenges and customer concerns with practical, timely, and effective solutions.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure smooth daily operations of the assigned department, focusing on achieving sales targets and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead, train, and supervise staff to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy.
  • Monitor inventory levels, minimize shrinkage, implement stock replenishments, and collaborate with supply chain for seamless availability.
  • Compile, analyze, and present regular sales reports to management, highlighting trends and actionable insights for performance enhancement.
  • Track departmental KPIs, implement action plans for areas of improvement, and ensure the achievement of predefined objectives.
  • Enforce loss prevention measures and conduct audits to ensure compliance with company policies and minimize operational risks.
  • Maintain store visual merchandising as per company guidelines to create an appealing and organized shopping environment.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns and feedback, providing timely resolutions to uphold Reliance Retail's standards of service excellence.
