The Department Manager position at Reliance Retail is a full-time, mid-level opportunity based in Dispur, Itanagar, Agartala, Jorhat, Sibsagar, or Guwahati. The ideal candidate will have between 1 and 3 years of relevant work experience and play an instrumental role in driving performance and operational excellence within their assigned department.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Previous experience of 1 to 3 years in retail or grocery management is required, supporting department operations efficiently.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in the grocery sector (Mandatory skill), contributing to inventory and merchandising success.
  • Background in retail operations (Mandatory skill), ensuring seamless in-store processes and superior customer experience delivery.
  • Strong ability to manage inventory levels, organize stock, and forecast product needs to minimize out-of-stock and reduce excess inventory.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, able to motivate team members to achieve departmental and store sales targets consistently.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the capability to address concerns, resolve issues, and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Expertise in shrinkage control techniques to minimize losses and maintain profitability within the department.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration, coaching, and operational coordination among team members.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all daily activities of the department to ensure efficient store operations and achievement of sales targets.
  • Monitor inventory levels, facilitate stock replenishment, and oversee product displays to maximize customer engagement and sales.
  • Lead and motivate team members through effective training, delegation, and continuous performance assessment.
  • Implement effective shrinkage control strategies, conducting regular audits to identify and minimize stock losses.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries efficiently and resolving complaints promptly.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and other departments to ensure seamless product availability and process execution.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies, operational standards, and compliance requirements within the department.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to recommend and execute strategies for improvement.
