Role Focus and Responsibilities

The Demo Applications Consultant will own the end-to-end demo experience for Oracle Sales and CPQ, across one or more industries, with equal emphasis on sales force automation and configure, price, quote. The role partners with lead architects, product management, and sales teams to translate business requirements and Oracle Modern Best Practices into robust, reusable demo solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Implementation -
    • Design and implement integrated business solutions spanning Oracle Sales and CPQ that exemplify ideal revenue workflows.
    • Configure Sales and CPQ environments (data, rules, UI, pricing, approvals) to demonstrate optimized sales processes and guided selling experiences.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure seamless, reliable demonstration experiences across multiple concurrent projects.
  2. Demo Development and Storytelling -
    • Craft narrative-driven demos and scripts that illustrate how Oracle Sales and CPQ transform selling, quoting, and deal management across industries.
    • Develop realistic use cases, fictional companies, products, pricing, and data sets that resonate with diverse industries and personas.
    • Create visually engaging collateral (videos, decks, guided scripts, enablement content) for internal teams and partners.
    • Align demo storylines with Oracle's strategic vision, emphasizing customer-centric experiences and measurable business outcomes.
  3. Project Management -
    • Transform Oracle Modern Best Practices and sales plays into actionable demo roadmaps and implementation plans.
    • Manage multiple concurrent projects, effectively prioritizing work and communicating status with a global, virtual team.
    • Collaborate closely with sales, presales, product management, and development to continuously evolve the demo portfolio.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Hands-on experience with CRM/CX applications, with strong functional knowledge of sales force automation and quoting processes.
  • Deep understanding of Oracle CPQ and solid familiarity with Oracle Sales, or vice versa, with a desire to become expert in both.
  • Exceptional storytelling and English communication skills: able to translate complex capabilities into simple, compelling narratives that inspire customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, comfort working with limited information, and proven ability to excel in a collaborative yet remote environment.
  • Effective planning, prioritization, and goal-setting, with a demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to technical detail.

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud-based CRM/CX implementation, especially Oracle Sales and CPQ, including configuration, data, and security considerations.
  • Strong technical skill set including some combination of HTML, CSS, BML, JSON, JQuery, XML, Node.js, and JavaScript for CPQ UI, rules, and extensions.
  • Experience with REST APIs, web services, and responsive web design concepts understanding of integration patterns and tools such as Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics, AI, digital assistants, and related technologies as applied to sales and quoting scenarios.
  • Advanced hands-on capability for producing visually engaging demo collateral and enablement materials.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Oracle CPQ or similar CPQ systems 5+ years of total relevant experience in SaaS enterprise or fast-paced tech environments preferred.
  • Experience with CRM/CX platforms (e.g., Oracle CX, Salesforce, Dynamics), with CX/CRM or CPQ implementation certifications highly desirable.
  • End-to-end understanding of integrated SaaS/PaaS solutions and how Sales and CPQ connect to adjacent CX and back-office applications.
