We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Delivery Manager in a player-coach role. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of software professionals while actively participating in client engagements and project delivery. The ideal candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on Project Management expertise to ensure the successful implementation of Artificial Intelligence software solutions that meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
- Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture, focusing on professional development and continuous learning.
- Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
- Work closely with sales teams to understand client requirements and propose solutions leveraging Vassar Digital's Connected Enterprise solution.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
Project Delivery:
- Ensure successful client implementations with a focus on achieving client business goals and referenceable clients.
- Actively participate in the management of complex software implementation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Oversee the execution of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure project management methodologies and best practices are followed across all engagements.
- Strategic Planning & Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Delivery department.
- Collaborate with other Sales and Engineering to align services with overall company goals.
- Continuously assess and improve project management methodologies, tools, and processes.
Hands-On Project Management:
- Take an active role in managing key client projects, including project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, define project scope, and establish timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
- Perform the Scrum Master role for the project scrum team.
Technical Leadership:
- Participate in or lead software architecture design and other technical tasks as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide cutting-edge solutions to clients.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide guidance to the team.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within software or IT services.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale software implementation projects and leading professional services teams.
- Strong background in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with Agile development and Scaled Agile Framework.
- Background in software development preferred.
