Delivery Manager

We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager – Engineering to lead end-to-end delivery across multiple software and product engineering initiatives.

The role requires a strong combination of engineering delivery leadership, people management, Agile execution, technical understanding, program management, and executive stakeholder management.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple engineering teams, delivering complex SaaS, cloud, and product initiatives, improving engineering productivity, and ensuring predictable, high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Delivery Leadership

• Own end-to-end delivery of multiple software/product engineering initiatives from planning through production release.
• Define delivery plans, milestones, timelines, dependencies, and success criteria.
• Ensure predictable and high-quality delivery across multiple engineering teams.
• Identify delivery bottlenecks and proactively drive resolution.
• Ensure effective coordination between Engineering, Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Business teams.
• Drive engineering delivery governance and establish consistent delivery processes.

Agile & Program Management

• Lead Agile/Scrum execution across multiple engineering teams.
• Drive sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Track delivery progress, risks, dependencies, issues, and mitigation plans.
• Ensure effective prioritization and capacity planning across teams.
• Establish appropriate governance and reporting mechanisms for engineering programs.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and ensure timely resolution of blockers.

People & Engineering Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop multiple engineering teams and engineering managers/leads.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and career development.
• Identify skill gaps and work with leadership to build appropriate team capabilities.
• Ensure effective resource allocation and workforce planning across engineering initiatives.

Engineering Excellence & Productivity

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.
• Establish and monitor engineering KPIs and delivery metrics.
• Track metrics such as:
• Sprint predictability
• Velocity
• Cycle time
• Release frequency
• Lead time
• Defect rates
• Production incidents
• Engineering productivity
• Identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve delivery performance.
• Promote engineering best practices, quality standards, automation, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder & Executive Management

• Partner closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Business leadership.
• Provide executive-level communication on delivery status, risks, dependencies, issues, and business outcomes.
• Present program health, delivery metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively communicate delivery risks and establish mitigation strategies.

SDLC, DevOps & Quality

• Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile, engineering quality, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Work with engineering teams to improve release management and deployment processes.
• Ensure appropriate quality gates are established throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with QA and DevOps teams to improve automation, release quality, and production stability.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and delivery standards.

Primary Skills – Must Have

• 12+ years of experience in Software Engineering / IT.
• 5+ years in Delivery Manager, Engineering Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Technical Project Manager roles.
• Strong experience managing multiple engineering teams.
• Proven experience delivering complex SaaS / Product / Cloud-based solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Strong program/project planning and execution experience.
• Excellent stakeholder and executive management skills.
• Strong experience in risk, issue, dependency, and change management.
• Strong people leadership and team-building capabilities.
• Experience managing engineering capacity and resource planning.
• Strong understanding of engineering delivery metrics and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile delivery tools.

Technical Exposure

The candidate should have a strong understanding of modern software engineering and cloud technologies, including:

• Experience working with US/global product organizations.
• Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Experience in SaaS, B2B products, EdTech, Developer Platforms, or Technology Products.
• Experience managing large-scale engineering programs.
• Exposure to AI/ML-enabled products or platforms.
• Experience with engineering transformation and productivity initiatives.
• Experience working in high-growth product organizations.
• PMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
