Job Description

As the Delivery Lead - Collections for Patient Financial Services at Medtronic's expanding Diabetes Care center in Pune, you will be responsible for the operational management of our insurance collection team. You'll work closely with senior leadership to define and achieve key accounts receivable metrics, focusing on the recovery and reconciliation of denied and inactive insurance claims. Your leadership will be crucial in optimizing our revenue cycle and ensuring financial health, ultimately helping Medtronic champion healthcare access and equity.

A Day in the Life

You will drive collections performance and optimize the revenue cycle by:

  • Managing the operational aspects of the insurance collection team within Patient Financial Services.
  • Working in conjunction with Senior Leadership to identify unit, department, and business priorities to successfully deliver on Patient Financial Service accounts receivable metrics.
  • Overseeing accounts receivable management, including the recovery and reconciliation of denied and no-activity insurance claims.
  • Interacting and collaborating with various departments to streamline processes.
  • Leading payer issue denial trending, conducting thorough research, and ensuring the recovery of payer issues.
  • Managing system updates, data analytics, strategic work plans, and the execution of plans and directives related to collections.
  • Leveraging your advanced knowledge of insurance contracting, payer regulations, insurance benefits, coordination of benefits, managed care, and healthcare compliance, rules, and regulations.
  • Utilizing your experience in reading and understanding medical policy information to effectively recover denied claims.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting major is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare insurance collections, accounts receivable management, billing and claims processing, and insurance payer contracts.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance contracting, payer regulations, insurance benefits, coordination of benefits, managed care, and healthcare compliance, rules, and regulations.
  • Advanced experience with reading and understanding medical policy information, and utilizing insurance benefit and coverage information to recover denied claims.
  • Advanced experience with various insurance plans offered by both government and commercial insurances (i.e., PPO, HMO, EPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid, HRAs) and coordination of healthcare benefits, including requirements for referral, authorization, and pre-determination.
  • Experience with medical billing and collections terminology - CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 and NDC coding, HIPAA guidelines, and healthcare compliance.
