Role Summary
The SME will play a critical role in overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, and investor reporting activities for Private Credit funds. The role requires strong domain expertise, particularly in credit instruments, and the ability to ensure delivery excellence, technical accuracy, and high-quality standards across all engagements.
Private Credit Fund Accounting & Administrator Coordination
- Assist with preparation of accounting support packages and coordinate with third-party fund administrators for multiple Private Credit entities.
- Review operating expenses, loan activity, and account reconciliations, including credit-related balances.
- Compile data and prepare detailed support workpapers across funds.
Trial Balance & Close Review
- Perform detailed reviews of monthly and quarterly trial balances prepared by fund administrators.
- Identify breaks related to loan balances, interest accruals, fees, and expenses, and coordinate timely resolution.
- Over time, take ownership of investigation and resolution of issues in collaboration with administrators.
- Actively contribute to improving efficiency in the close-the-books process.
Financial, Investor & Regulatory Reporting
- Review quarterly financial reporting, including:
- Financial Statements (FS): Validate consistency between trial balances, SOI data, loan schedules, and other client deliverables.
- Investor Capital Statements (P-Caps).
- Regulatory reporting (e.g., MMIF).
Private Credit Instrument Knowledge (Critical Requirement)
The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of Private Credit instruments, including but not limited to:
- Term Loans
- Revolving Credit Facilities (Revolvers)
- Delayed Draw Term Loans (DDTLs)
- Interest structures including PIK (Payment-in-Kind) interest, cash interest, OID, and related accruals
- Understanding of commitment tracking, drawdowns, repayments, and amortization schedules
This knowledge is essential to effectively review administrator outputs, financial statements, investor reports, and support issue resolution.
Investor Reporting
- Review investor capital statements (P-Caps), including:
- Footing and cross-footing checks
- Validation against source documentation
- Review of ILPA statements and reconciliation with P-Caps
- Review capital call and distribution notices against underlying support.
- Coordinate investor reporting deliverables with third-party administrators.
Audit, Tax & Compliance Support
- Assist the Controller group with annual audit coordination.
- Support review and preparation of audited financial statements.
- Prepare and review support schedules for tax reporting and compliance.
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure timely delivery of work with high quality and accuracy standards.
- Review team deliverables and provide technical guidance and feedback.
- Handle ad hoc internal and external reporting requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients on delivery-related matters.
Experience & Skill Requirements: -
- Relevant experience in Private Markets, with strong exposure to Private Credit funds.
- Hands-on experience working with third-party fund administrators.
- Strong understanding of:
- Private Credit fund accounting
- Loan instruments and related interest mechanics (including PIK)
- Financial statement and investor reporting reviews
- Proven ability to lead reviews, manage delivery independently, and uphold high-quality standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- WSO experience is a big plus.
