ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Delay Analysis Engineer is responsible for the identification, analysis, quantification, and reporting of schedule delays and disruptions affecting EPC projects. The role supports Project Management, Contract Management, and Project Controls teams by providing robust forensic schedule analysis, extension of time (EOT) assessments, productivity impact evaluations, and claims support in accordance with contractual requirements and industry best practices.
The position requires strong expertise in Primavera P6 scheduling, critical path analysis, construction sequencing, and delay methodologies such as Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Windows Analysis, As-Planned vs As-Built, and Collapsed As-Built techniques.
The Senior Delay Analysis Engineer shall proactively support the early identification of schedule risks and potential claims scenarios, ensuring proper documentation, transparency, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
LOCATION: (BANGALORE/CHENNAI)
- Develop, maintain, and review forensic delay analyses for EPC projects during all project phases.
- Perform schedule impact assessments associated with:
- Client changes
- Engineering delays
- Procurement delays
- Construction disruptions
- Productivity losses
- Interface issues
- Subcontractor performance deviations
- Analyze project schedules using Primavera P6 and evaluate:
- Critical path evolution
- Float consumption
- Schedule variance
- Concurrent delays
- Progress deviations
- Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) analyses and supporting documentation in line with contractual requirements.
- Develop Time Impact Analyses (TIA) and other recognized forensic schedule methodologies.
- Perform As-Planned vs As-Built assessments and schedule recovery evaluations.
- Review baseline schedules and periodic updates to identify potential delay exposure and contractual risks.
- Support Contract Management and Project Management teams in claims preparation and defense strategies.
- Prepare detailed delay reports, narratives, and executive summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings with Clients, subcontractors, and project teams regarding schedule impacts and recovery plans.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Cost Control, and Risk departments to gather required project data.
- Maintain comprehensive records of delay events, correspondence, progress evidence, and mitigation actions.
- Support the evaluation of disruption and productivity loss impacts where applicable.
- Assist in the preparation of arbitration, dispute resolution, or expert witness documentation if required.
- Ensure all analyses are aligned with company procedures, contractual obligations, and Project Controls methodologies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Planning, Project Controls, Delay Analysis, or Claims within EPC projects.
- Strong experience in refinery, petrochemical, LNG, power, or industrial projects.
- Experience supporting arbitration processes, dispute adjudication boards (DAB), or expert witness activities will be considered a strong advantage.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Primavera P6
- Microsoft Excel
- Schedule risk analysis methodologies
- Critical path analysis
- Earned Value Management principles
- Proven experience in:
- Delay analysis methodologies
- Extension of Time (EOT) preparation
- Forensic scheduling
- Contractual schedule analysis
- Strong understanding of EPC contract structures and project execution workflows.
- Familiarity with international standards and practices related to delay analysis and claims management.
- Knowledge of AACE Recommended Practices and SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol would be considered a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
- Site experience and international project exposure would be considered a plus.
- Availability to travel or support site assignments depending on project requirements.

- Acumen Fuse / Acumen Risk Certification (desirable)
- Contract & Claims Knowledge:
- FIDIC contract administration training or equivalent claims management certification would be considered an advantage.
