Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Defence Sales Manager role based in Gurugram. The Defence Sales Manager will identify and develop business opportunities for drone and related solutions within defense and security sectors, including government agencies, paramilitary forces, and other institutional buyers. The role involves managing the entire sales cycle: prospecting, engaging with key stakeholders, presenting technical and commercial proposals, leading discussions, and closing contracts in alignment with organizational goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with decision-makers, tracking tenders and RFPs, coordinating with technical and operations teams on solution design, and ensuring timely responses to bids. The position also requires regular market and competitor analysis, preparation of sales forecasts and reports, participation in industry events and demonstrations, and compliance with all relevant defense and governmental regulations and policies.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in defence or government sales, preferably within aerospace, drones, aviation, or related technology sectors.
  • Strong skills in B2G/B2B sales, key account management, relationship building with defence and government stakeholders, and negotiation.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical product features, operational capabilities, and value propositions of drone and agricultural technology solutions.
  • Experience with tendering processes, RFP/RFQ responses, proposal preparation, and contract management in defence or public sector environments.
  • Solid market research, pipeline management, and sales forecasting skills, with comfort using CRM tools and basic sales analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation and delivery of presentations, demos, and formal documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Defence Studies, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent commercial qualification is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with defence procurement procedures, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, demonstrations, and industry events as required.
