Job Description

Company Description

ESS KS Life Tech is an emerging independent deep-tech R&D organization focused on developing innovative solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, software, computational systems, and advanced technology. The company is building research-driven technologies designed to explore and address complex real-world challenges through experimentation, engineering, and long-term innovation.

As a rapidly evolving early-stage venture, ESS KS Life Tech provides opportunities to contribute directly to business development, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and organizational growth. The company operates with a global mindset and emphasizes initiative, technical understanding, independent thinking, continuous learning, and long-term value creation for investors, partners, customers, and the broader technology ecosystem.

Role Description

This is a full-time, remote, unpaid role for a Deep-Tech Business Development & Fundraising Representative at ESS KS Life Tech.

The representative will serve as an external-facing representative of the company, responsible for identifying and developing relationships with potential investors, incubators, accelerators, strategic partners, organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.

The primary responsibility of this role is to secure, coordinate, and attend qualified business, fundraising, partnership, and networking meetings on behalf of ESS KS Life Tech. The representative will communicate the company's vision, research areas, products, projects, and business opportunities to external stakeholders while maintaining accurate communication with company leadership.

Daily responsibilities may include investor and market research, lead generation, prospect qualification, professional outreach through email and LinkedIn, preparing outreach materials, coordinating meetings, attending virtual meetings on behalf of the company, presenting company information and pitch materials, documenting meeting outcomes, managing follow-ups, and maintaining an organized opportunity pipeline.

The representative will also support fundraising activities by identifying suitable investors, venture capital firms, angel networks, government programs, incubators, accelerators, grants, and strategic funding opportunities relevant to deep-tech startups.

The role requires the ability to represent ESS KS Life Tech professionally in external conversations while understanding when technical, financial, legal, or strategic matters should be referred to company leadership.

This position is particularly suitable for individuals who want practical experience in deep-tech business development, startup fundraising, investor relations, strategic partnerships, technology commercialization, and early-stage venture building.

Key Responsibilities

- Represent ESS KS Life Tech in qualified external meetings and professional discussions.
- Identify and research potential investors, incubators, accelerators, strategic partners, clients, and technology organizations.
- Generate and qualify fundraising and business-development opportunities.
- Conduct professional outreach through LinkedIn, email, networking platforms, and relevant startup ecosystems.
- Schedule and personally attend virtual meetings with potential investors, partners, incubators, and other stakeholders.
- Present ESS KS Life Tech's company overview, vision, technology areas, projects, and pitch materials.
- Communicate complex technological concepts clearly to non-technical audiences without making unsupported technical claims.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of investors, partners, leads, meetings, and follow-ups.
- Prepare meeting briefs and research before important conversations.
- Record meeting outcomes, requirements, questions, and next steps.
- Coordinate follow-ups and maintain long-term professional relationships.
- Identify relevant grants, accelerators, incubation programs, competitions, and funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with company leadership on fundraising strategy, positioning, messaging, and business development.
- Escalate technical, legal, financial, contractual, or investment decisions to authorized company leadership when required.
- Maintain professional confidentiality regarding company research, intellectual property, business plans, and internal information.

Qualifications

- Strong Business Development, Lead Generation, and Relationship Management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong confidence in professional meetings and the ability to independently represent an early-stage technology company.
- Ability to present a company's vision and technology clearly to investors, partners, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong research and prospecting abilities, with the ability to identify relevant investors and organizations rather than relying solely on mass outreach.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote startup environment.
- Strong interest in deep-tech, artificial intelligence, robotics, software, semiconductors, advanced computing, or emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with startup fundraising, investor relations, venture capital, incubators, accelerators, or grant ecosystems is highly beneficial.
- Previous experience attending investor, business-development, partnership, or startup networking meetings is preferred.
- Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them accurately is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Technology, or a related field is preferred but not strictly required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who can independently represent ESS KS Life Tech in external conversations while possessing enough technical understanding to discuss a deep-tech company credibly.

Candidates with experience in deep-tech startups, venture capital, incubators, accelerators, technology business development, investor relations, or strategic partnerships are particularly encouraged to apply.

Important: This is an unpaid, remote opportunity intended for individuals seeking substantial practical experience in deep-tech startup development, fundraising, business development, and strategic networking. The role does not authorize the representative to make binding investment, legal, financial, contractual, or technical commitments on behalf of ESS KS Life Tech unless explicitly authorized by company leadership.
