About the Role

TheDebt Counsellorwill work closely with clients to assess their financial situations, create effective repayment strategies, and provide ongoing support throughout their debt resolution journey. This role requires strong financial knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to helping people regain control of their finances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed assessments of clients financial situations to understand their debt obligations and repayment capacities.
  • Develop customized and sustainable debt management plans based on clients individual needs.
  • Negotiate with creditors to restructure payments, reduce interest rates, orconsolidatedebts when possible.
  • Educate clients on budgeting, responsible credit use, and long-term financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and relevant financial regulations.
  • Maintainaccurateclient records and track progress consistently.
  • Provide continuous financial counselling, motivation, and support to clients.
  • Stay informed about debt resolution laws, credit regulations, and best practices in the industry.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 24years experience in debt counselling, financial advisory, or credit management.
  • Solid understanding of credit systems, debt management, and consumer finance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Empathetic, ethical, and professional approach when working with clients under financial stress.
