Role & responsibilities
- Academic & Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the academic vision and strategic plan for the college.
- Foster an environment of excellence in teaching, learning, and clinical practice.
- Oversee the development, review, and revision of the curriculum to ensure it meets DCI and university standards and remains current with advancements in dental science.
- Administration & Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the college, including budgetary oversight, resource allocation, and facilities management.
- Provide leadership to department heads and faculty, optimizing their performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements set by the DCI and other statutory bodies.
- Faculty & Staff Management:
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, promotion, and retention of faculty members, following established criteria.
- Supervise faculty teaching loads, research activities, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Student Affairs:
- Oversee a fair and transparent student admissions process.
- Foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Address student grievances and concerns, working towards their resolution in a timely manner.
- Research & Innovation:
- Encourage and support research initiatives within the college.
- Facilitate collaboration with external research institutions and industry partners.
- Community Engagement & Compliance:
- Establish and maintain strong connections with the dental community and professional organizations.
- Promote community outreach programs and public health education initiatives.
- Ensure the college adheres to all DCI norms regarding infrastructure, faculty-student ratios, and clinical training.
Preferred candidate profile
The applicant must fulfill the criteria as per DCI norms.
- Educational Qualification:
- Must possess a recognized postgraduate dental qualification (e.g., MDS) from a university recognized by the DCI.
- A doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant field is highly preferred.
- Experience:
- Same qualifications as prescribed for a professor in DCI Experience as Professor for not less than 5 years in a dental institution.
- A proven track record of academic leadership, curriculum development, and administrative management.

- In-depth knowledge of DCI/NDC norms and University affiliation processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage faculty, staff, students, and patients.
