DataOps Engineer/Data-Dev-ops Engineer/Big Data SRE

improvement of our analytics and big data platforms. The Data Operations team is dedicated to

proactively transforming and building future-proof services, prioritizing robust automation and

Position: DataOps Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Digital Operations

Responsibilities:

Manage and support Hadoop production clusters to ensure high performance and availability for

users and teams across the company. We use Cloudera's CDP distribution at RingCentral.

Support analytics platforms based on Spark clusters, Airflow workflow management system,

Tableau visualization platform.

Participate in on-duty rotations, work on production incidents from triage to resolution, collaborate with engineering and QA teams to identify root cause and prevent future service degradation and outages.

Continuously seek ways to optimize time spent on maintenance activities and automate routine

tasks.

Take part in implementation of proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and self-healing

systems.

Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, MIS or

related field and equivalent practical experience.

3+ years of experience of production back-end platforms support

5+ years of experience with administration of Linux OS

Deep understanding of network principles: TCP/IP stack, HTTP/S, DNS

Deep understanding of Linux OS maintenance operations: user management, package

management, system service configuration

Experience deploying, maintaining and optimizing Spark and/or Hadoop platforms (ideally both)

Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery concepts, including Infrastructure

as code tools. We use Ansible, Cloud Development Kit, Gitlab Runners, Jenkins and Terraform.

Experience with container-based workloads running on Docker and/or Kubernetes.

Experience with deploying and optimizing AWS public cloud resources

Experience with python and/or golang programming languages would be plus

Experience with Tableau platform would be plus

Experience with configuration of monitoring systems based on Prometheus, Grafana and Zabbix

solutions would be plus

Fast learner with ability to self-teach and dig through documentation

Strong analytical skills
