Mandatory
Hands-on C/C++ software development
- Linux
- L2/L3 networking
- Packet-forwarding/data-plane development
- Router, switch or network-product development
- At least one relevant protocol: IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, STP, multicast, DHCP, EVPN-VxLAN or SRv6
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
For 6–9-year candidates, additionally expect:
- Advanced C/C++ and data structures
- Pointers, memory and bit manipulation
- IPC, synchronisation or multithreading
- GDB/core-dump debugging
- Protocol or feature ownership
- Systems design or technical leadership
