We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Datacenter Manager to oversee all aspects of datacenter operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing high-availability datacenter environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage all datacenter operations, including facility management, equipment maintenance, and service delivery, ensuring uninterrupted IT services.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to align with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of datacenter infrastructure, such as servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
- Monitor performance metrics (uptime, power usage, cooling efficiency) and implement optimization measures.
- Lead and mentor a team of datacenter engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers for timely procurement and support.
- Develop and manage the datacenter budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-optimization opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including security and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support infrastructure needs and manage upgrades or changes.
- Act as the primary contact for datacenter issues, incidents, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CDCP, DCIE) are a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years in datacenter operations, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, and cooling systems.
- Experience with high-availability systems and reliability optimization.
- Familiarity with tools like DCIM systems, monitoring solutions, and automation tools.
- Industry Standards: Knowledge of ITIL, ANSI/TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, and related best practices.
