Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to work under banking domain. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, VB.Net, Powershell scripting, combined with proven experience in managing application stability, incident resolution, and stakeholder communication.
This role involves direct interaction with business users, operations, and technical teams to ensure critical banking applications run seamlessly, issues are resolved promptly, and service levels are consistently met.
Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 application support for critical banking applications, ensuring high availability and stability.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs using SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle skills.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and drive permanent fixes.
- Support deployment activities, configuration changes, and environment validations in coordination with development and infrastructure teams.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to understand issues, provide updates, and manage expectations.
- Work with vendor/third-party teams where required to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
- Participate in periodic DR drills, system upgrades, and release validations.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve support efficiency.
Qualifications
- Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Application Support roles, preferably within the banking/financial services domain.
- Strong hands-on skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Database (query optimization, troubleshooting).
- Exposure to Windows environments, middleware tools and scripting will be a plus.
- Good knowledge of ITIL framework.
- Proven ability to manage production incidents and drive root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working directly at client sites.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Nice to Have
- Knowledge of banking products and operations (retail, payments, treasury,).
- Experience with automation tools or monitoring platforms.
- ITILv4 certification
