Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Database Sales Engineer with a strong background in database consulting, professional services, and enterprise solution architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with clients, understanding business and technical requirements, responding to RFP/RFTs, and designing scalable database, analytics, and cloud-based solutions.
This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, customer-facing consulting skills, and the ability to present complex solutions to technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present solution proposals, architecture documents, and RFP/RFT responses.
- Design and recommend database modernization, migration, performance optimization, and analytics solutions.
- Provide technical leadership during pre-sales engagements and proof-of-concept activities.
- Collaborate with delivery, engineering, and sales teams to develop winning customer solutions.
- Advise clients on database architecture best practices, cloud adoption strategies, and data management frameworks.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and executive briefings to large audiences and senior stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies including AI, vector databases, and advanced analytics platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in database administration, database engineering, solution architecture, or professional services consulting.
- Proven experience in customer-facing consulting, solution architecture, or sales engineering roles.
- Strong experience in RFP/RFT responses and enterprise solution design.
- Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following database technologies:
- Informix (Highly Preferred)
- Ingres / Actian Databases
- IBM DB2
- Teradata / Netezza
- Oracle Database
