Role Description

Design, deploy, and manage multiple database systems includingMongoDB Microsoft SQL Server,PostgreSQL, MySQL,Redis

Perform data migrations, version upgrades, and patching with minimal downtime.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC)for database provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc.

Automate database maintenance tasks via scripting(Python, Bash, PowerShell).

Ensure high availability (HA)and implement disaster recovery (DR)strategies across database platforms.

Continuously tune database performance, optimize query execution, indexing, and storage configurations.

Implement robust data backup and recoveryprocesses; regularly test restore procedures.

Enforce database securitystandards, including encryption, access controls, auditing, and compliance requirements.

Monitor database health and performance using relevant tools and respond to alerts and incidents.

Collaborate with development and operations teams to support application database needs and deployment pipelines.

Document configurations, processes, and best practices for ongoing database operations.

Qualifications

Solid understanding of data migration, backup/restore, and upgrade strategies.

Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automating database operations.

Experience in deploying and managing databases via infrastructure as code (IaC).

Proven track record with performance tuning, query optimization, and index strategy.

Expertise in high availability, clustering, replication, and disaster recoveryplanning.

Familiarity with data security practices, encryption standards, and access management.

Experience with monitoring and alertingtools related to database health and system metrics.

Knowledge of Kafkaand Elasticsearchis a plus, especially in the context of data streaming and log indexing.
