Role Overview

You will work in a fast-paced environment where we are responsible for the most critical systems. Our external teams ( Customers ) count on us to keep their MySQL database running and we are vital to the success of their business. You will troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to the DB system's availability and performance. You will develop relationships with customers, comprehend and fulfil their needs, and maintain their satisfaction through regular communication and engagement with their environments.

Responsibility

The major focus is on handling all the alerts in MDS MySQL.

Optimising the complex SQL Queries.

On-Demand Query Optimization.

Monthly Query optimization assigned ( based on customer list ).

Get into Client calls on Performance issues and other tasks.

Reaching the DBE-2 and DBRE's for escalations.

Assisting and mentoring the ADBEs.

Efficient troubleshooting using MySQL MDS Internal tools

Writing the technical and process documents.

Managing the client-based operations documents to ease scheduled & repeated tasks for the database engineering team.

Skills Required

Teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Alarm resolution expert

Good in SQL language.

Linux commands for day-to-day operations.

Kernel tuning and Linux performance tools

Expertise in MySQL backup tools

mysqldump

mydumper/myloader

Xtrabackup.

mariabackup

Knowledge on AWS basic operations

log collections

S3 Push

AWS Workspace

Deep Skills in query optimization, index tuning and implementing the database features for SQL optimisation.

Polite, friendly and professional; this position requires significant customer interaction and teamwork.

Process-oriented and teamwork play a pivotal role.

Excellent and strong written and spoken English Communication Skills.

Strong work ethic and accepts feedback from others.

Strong understanding of MySQL architecture, storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM), and replication (Binlog Based And GTID).

Good understanding of database security practices (users, roles, encryption, authentication mechanisms).

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Experience with monitoring tools such as PMM (Percona Monitoring and Management), Prometheus, Grafana

Good to Have (Optional but Preferred): Experience with AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL.
