Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Database Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database architecture, performance optimization, and data security, along with hands-on experience handling large-scale databases in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance database systems
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and continuous monitoring
- Manage database security, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
- Collaborate with development teams to design efficient and scalable data models
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and ensure high availability and reliability
- Implement data validation, integrity, and governance processes
- Automate routine database maintenance and operational tasks
- Support data migration, integration, and ETL processes
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks
Required Skills Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or Database Administrator
- Strong expertise in databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
- Hands-on experience in database performance tuning and optimization
- Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL tools
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or PowerShell
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Relevant certifications in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or AWS
